Who is using MCH Multimedia programs?

What schools and colleges are using MCH's science software programs?

High schools, colleges, and universities worldwide are using MCH's courseware programs.

Student Version vs. Institutional Version Software

What is the difference between MCH's student version software and institutional version software?

Our student version software is intended for student or home learner purchase, for use at home, in the dorm, etc., on a single student-owned
computer.

The institutional version software is intended for school purchase, installation on school-owned computers, and classroom use. These programs are sold as multi-user licenses (either single-workstation or network licenses). Because these programs are used by multiple faculty and students, semester after semester, the institutional version prices are higher than the student versions. MCH's policy regarding network versions includes yearly renewable update packages that can be purchased during the useful life of our products.

Software License Type

What is a single-workstation license?

A single-workstation license allows installation and use of the software on a single computer. One backup copy is allowed.

What is a network/site license?

A network/site license allows installation and use of the software on multiple workstations, either on a client-server network or individual non-networked workstations. One set of master CDs is provided for installation. These licenses are defined by the number of workstations simultaneously accessing the software (in the case of a network installation), or by the number of individual non-networked workstations to which the software has been installed (a site installation). MCH works with each institution to derive the best price possible for their individual situation, and therefore inquiries regarding a network license at your institution should be forwarded to sales@mchmultimedia.com.

Evaluation Policies

Can I evaluate a program before deciding to purchase?

You may either download time limited evaluations of the full versions (7 days extendable to 30 days for instructors) or view the tutorials online from our Science Portal for 30-days (instructors only).

College Faculty Review Copy Policy

Can I evaluate a student version program before adding it to my recommended course materials list?

College faculty wishing to evaluate student version programs for possible course adoption may request a software trial period. MCH's policy regarding student evaluations is parallel to that of faculty evaluations - namely, a full online version of the software can be made available to interested parties upon request.

Software Upgrades

I have an older version of an MCH Multimedia program. Can I upgrade to the current version?

Yes. In some cases an upgrade is provided free of charge if the new version simply includes bug fixes or other technical improvements. If new instructional content has been added, or any major programming revision has taken place, the upgrade is considered a paid upgrade. Contact MCH for more specific information.

Platform compatibility

Are MCH products multi platformed? Do they run on all different Operating Systems?

Yes, every MCH product runs on Windows NT, Windows 95 and Windows 98. The same products will also run on Macintosh OS 7.x and 8.x.

General Chemistry 3.0, Pre-General Chemistry 1.0, Organic Chemistry 1.0 and General Physics 3.0 all run on Windows 3.x. However, MCH downloadable modules and versions newer than the above mentioned are NOT compatible with versions of Windows before Windows 95.

If you are having any trouble running our programs on our computer, you can reach us by e-mail at support@mchmultimedia.com, or preferably, you may fill out our Technical Support form.
